Ivywild Bear Sculpture

​The Ivywild Bear Sculpture will be a piece of public art created for and with the neighborhood of Ivywild and contributes to the larger public art initiative in Colorado Springs. The mosaic sculpture will be representative of Phil the bear, Ivywild's neighborhood mascot, reflecting the unique character and spirit of the Ivywild neighborhood. 

 

The Ivywild Improvement Society (IIS) has been conceptualizing Ivywild as a designated Art District within Colorado Springs and implementing public art in Ivywild since approximately 2020. In 2020 IIS successfully completed the Ivywild Gateway Mural on Cheyenne Road and S. Cascade Avenue. In 2021, IIS successfully completed the Ivywild Park Gazebo mural. These mural projects were completed and designed by the residents of Ivywild. IIS partnered with garden enthusiast Rob Lucey to develop the Ivywild Garden Art Toure (IGATE) with the goal that all donations and any fundraising for IGATE would be used to build or purchase a piece of public art for Ivywild. Ivywild is home to many types of artists and creative individuals. It is one of the original Colorado Springs neighborhoods with interesting history.​​
